Ross Memorial Hospital (RMH) is an active, acute-care community hospital located in the heart of the City of Kawartha Lakes. Among our acute and continuing care services, our team cares for 45,000 patients per year in the 24/7/365 emergency department, provides orthopedics and ophthalmology, operates a dialysis unit, and is renowned for its mental health programs and restorative seniors care. The CCP2/Rehab/Integrated Stroke unit is a specialized patient care area within Ross Memorial Hospital. A patient is admitted there for general rehab and acute stroke care. Each patient will have rehab goals to support their treatment and to meet the goals of a safe discharge home. The Integrated Stroke Unit cares for patients that have had an acute stroke and need specialized stroke care to maximize recovery potential including rehab functional goals. FE (Functional Enhancement) consists of a slow stream rehabilitation program for those patients who are unable to tolerate the intensity of the inpatient rehab program.
This Temporary Full-Time Physiotherapist position will mainly support CCP2/Integrated Stoke/Rehabilitation unit and may be reassigned to other departments, as required, to fulfill patient care needs as part of a centralized Rehab Service.Start date: May 6, 2024Ending on or before date: July 31, 2025
• Baccalaureate degree in Physiotherapy• Licensed and member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario• Current C.P.R. certification on hire• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within an interpersonal team• Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of staff and the public• Demonstrated high level of communication, organizational and time management skills• Experience in a hospital based physiotherapy program• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interprofessional and collaborative team environment• Experience working with geriatric population in an activation type model• Excellent working knowledge and application of principles of geriatric care• Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
• Master's Degree in Physiotherapy• Membership in Canadian Physiotherapists Association• Evidence of ongoing education in geriatric care
Must be available to work day shift, Monday to Sunday. Shifts and hours may vary according to departmental requirements, the OPSEU Collective Agreement and funding.
